My first unofficial tea lessons started during visits with my family in Taiwan. Oolong tea was always on the table during meals, and after dinner, my cousins and I would run out to buy bubble tea and to set off fireworks. Over the years, my palette broadened to include teas such as Phoenix Oolongs and Yunnan Puer's, and learning about tea became both a passion and a profession.
